"e;Chrysalis is a Santa Monica-based organization that is
dedicated to helping economically disadvantaged and homeless
individuals become self-sufficient through employment
opportunities. The Junior League of Los Angeles provides a
positive seven-week, biannual Women's Empowerment Program to
help substance and alcohol-free women (20-60 yrs.). After
attending training workshops over the summer, Junior League
of Los Angeles volunteers help these women to improve their
self-esteem, to transition from unemployment and dependency
to employment and self-sufficiency, while achieving the
measurable goals of graduation from the program, gainful
employment, and job retention. "e;
